"content": "In light of the fact the National treasury continues to fund county governments with low balances at the CBK, we do not expect any county government to experience financial distress. Madam Temporary Speaker, a schedule has been attached which indicates balances of amounts that are in county governments’ accounts. I will read a few counties for the record: (1) Baringo - Kshs472,932,000.00 (2) Bomet - Kshs613,060,000.00 (3) Bungoma - Kshs408,002,000.00 (4) Busia - Kshs253,680,000.00 (5) Elgeyo Marakwet - Kshs308,576,832.00 (6) Embu - Kshs550,500,000.00 (7) Garissa - Kshs587,088,000.00 (8) Homa Bay - Kshs339,750,000.00 (9) West Pokot - Kshs569,723,000.00 Madam Temporary Speaker, since the numbers are too tiny I cannot read all of them. However, the schedule will be made available for Members to check their counties and see whether their county governments are demanding more cash to be disbursed and whether they face a problem. That is the end of the Statement. Senators, if you may allow me to say this, my colleagues should be available tomorrow and Thursday for us to debate and pass the amendments and consequently correct the anomalies that were sought to be corrected by this request."
