    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.46(2)(b), to request a statement from the Senate Majority Leader on the status of Kenya regarding the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. In the Statement, the Senate Majority Leader should address the issues below. (a) Is he aware that the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction is a multilateral Treaty which seeks to protect Kenyan children from the harmful effects of abduction and detention across international boundaries by providing a procedure to bring about their prompt return? (b) Why is Kenya not a signatory to the above Convention and what steps is the Government taking to ensure the process of signing is commenced, if not already underway?"
