"content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the relevant Standing Order is No.182 on Criteria for Nomination. It is clear that:- “In nominating a Senator to serve in a Select Committee, the Senate Business Committee shall ensure that the membership of each Committee reflects the relative majorities of the seats held by each of the Parliamentary parties in the Senate.” Therefore, there is no Standing Order for bipartisan committees. It makes it more complicated because the National Assembly has already nominated five people. Since it is a Joint Committee, there must be equal numbers from both Houses."
