Deputy Speaker, in the 10th Parliament, as we were working on legislation to accommodate county governments, some of the qualifications that we were to deal with, which came from the Office of the Attorney-General, was that for members to be appointed to several commissions, one of the disqualifications was having served as a Member of Parliament. It is as if serving in this House makes you are an ex-convict. We asked why a Member who served in this House should not serve in any commission.
