First, I would like to join my colleagues in sending my condolences to the people of Nyeri and the family of Dr. Gakuru due to the unfortunate accident which led to his death. I would like to support this Motion on the National Urban Development Policy which is very important given the way urban centres or towns are developing in Kenya. We note that in many centres, there is quite a haphazard construction of houses. There are no recreational areas which have been left for people to use as parking or open spaces."
