    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise being brought here by the great people of Wundanyi Constituency. They in one faith voted for Danson Mwashako to represent them in this House. Today, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the people of Wundanyi. I honestly commit to them that I am here to work for them and represent them fully. I will discharge my duties as their Member of Parliament. For those of us who have not traversed Taita Taveta County, I wish to indicate that Wundanyi Constituency is found in Taita Taveta County. It is one of the four constituencies. Wundanyi happens to have two areas. There are highlands whereby there are Taita Hills and there are lowlands whereby we have areas where mining takes place and a lot of mineral activities. Wundanyi, being part of Taita Taveta County, I would like to mention in this House that we come from a region where wildlife is part of us. I mean the biggest part of wildlife in this country, that is, Tsavo East and Tsavo West, is found within Taita Taveta County. To be precise 62 per cent of the county is under wildlife. A bigger part of it has the national parks which I need to mention that the people on the ground indeed have issues because they know – and I as their representative – for sure that having national parks does not directly benefit the poor person in county. Secondly, Taita Taveta County is known very well because of its minerals. We hold gemstones and industrial minerals within the county. It is estimated that 80 per cent of our land mass contains very precious minerals which can be used not only to transform the county of Taita Taveta but also to transform and improve the economy of this country. Having said that, there are quite a number of challenges my people face on the ground. These challenges range from issues of poverty. There is a very high level of poverty within my constituency. There are issues around unemployment and marginalisation. People strongly believe that they have been marginalised because one thing is that the land is yet to be adjudicated.
