So, my people have sent me here with one mission so that I can come here and discuss issues in this Parliament for them to realise the benefit around what is available within the county. Allow me to now support this Motion on the Adoption of the Sessional Paper No.7 on the Mining and Minerals Policy of this country. I want to bring to the attention of this House that these minerals are available in the country. My friend, the Member for Mwingi, mentioned that he will die before a kilo of coal is mined out of their land. My people keep imagining that one day these minerals will add value to their lives. It is believed that the minerals that we have in the county do not benefit the locals. All of them benefit people outside the county. Even as we think of passing this policy - which is a beautiful document - there are a number of things that are happening around mining. We have always gone out there and talked about investors. We imagine that these investors must either come from abroad or from those people who have a lot of money. The Government of this country needs to have a clear policy that supports---"
