"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. As I conclude, it is important that even as we look at this policy, we also look at the communities that live around the mineral deposits. My county residents and my constituents feel so alienated by the fact that mining is taking place but directly benefiting people outside the constituency and the county. I will give you an example. Today, there is a place called Kishushe where the biggest iron ore mineral deposit is being mined. This is a place that has the poorest people in the county. They have no schools and water. Every now and then, they dream about Mzima Springs and yet they have a lot of deposits that are benefiting people outside. We believe that if this policy if fully implemented, then my people around Kishushe and Taita Taveta County will benefit. I support the adoption of Sessional Paper No.7 on Mining and Minerals Policy."
