    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I stand to oppose the petition on the growth and consumption of Cannabis Sativa. We all know that this is a House of record. Ten, 20, 30 or forty years down the line; Kenyans will judge this Senate harshly. At a time when there are many issues that this Senate should be discussing and taking a position on, it defeats basic morals that precious time and resources of this honorable House will be spent discussing the possibility of growing and allowing the consumption of CannabisSativa at a time when the world is clearly moving away from the consumption of such drugs. I want it to go on record that the consumption of Cannabis Sativa has been associated with all manner of ills in this country and our societies. Allowing the petitioner to be heard by this honorable House to push forward the agenda of growing and consuming Cannabis Sativa goes against basic principles of public morality. I beg to oppose."
