    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Petition. Those of us who are educators are aware of what this means and how important it is. I agree with my colleagues who say that we should commit this petition to the relevant committee that can look at it in detail and see the best we can do to make this happen for our universities. I want to bring to the Speaker’s attention and other Members that education is a very important aspect in people’s lives and this country. If we want this country to become something important in the world, we need to educate our youngsters. We need educated people and those educated people come from teachers, lecturers and professors. If these teachers are always hungry, paid peanuts or always unhappy, I do not see how they can be useful in class. I have been teaching for 37 years and most of that time, I was hungry. I have gone to the shop to borrow food because there was no enough money to buy food. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
