    "content": "I also call upon owners of trucks to review the way they recruit their drivers and how they remunerate them. Perhaps, part of the reason these drivers are fatigued is because they do not have alternate drivers. The reason they freewheel is to save some money on fuel because probably they are not paid well enough. I also urge the truck owners to properly compensate the drivers. Most of the drivers sleep in the truck. Maybe it is because they are not given an allowance. When it gets late and they are still on the road, they need to have a good rest so that they can refresh before they can get on the road the next day. The truck owners should also look for people of integrity when recruiting drivers. They should look for people who do not abuse drugs and alcohol and people who care about other people’s lives."
