    "content": "2013-2017 CBA. The same CBA was registered by the Employment and Labour Relations Court, bringing to an end a period of industrial unrest by the UASU members. The Petitioners aver that to date, the CBA has not been fully implemented leading to staff demotivation and suffering. In addition, the UASU members have further resorted to industrial action which has detrimental effect on the higher education sector. The Petitioners pray that the National Assembly intervenes and facilitates: (i) Appropriation of funds to enable implementation of the 2013-2017 CBA; (ii) Appropriation of funds for employers’ pension component of the 2010-2013 and 2013-2017 CBAs; and (iii)Make any other order or direction as it deems fit in the circumstances of this matter. Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 227 the Petition stands committed to the Departmental Committee on Education and Research for consideration. The committee is required to consider the Petition and report its findings to the Petitioners and the House in accordance with Standing Order 227(2). All the accompanying documentation about those CBAs is attached to the Petition. I thank you, Members. Hon.
