Senators, as required by Rule 18(1), once all Senators have cast their votes, I will appoint two Senators to be the counting agents and suspend the proceedings of the Senate to facilitate counting and tallying of the votes. During this time, hon. Senators, I urge you to remain within the precincts of Parliament. Please, do not go far away because it will be a temporary suspension of proceedings. In accordance with Rule 18(2), the presiding officer, assisted by parliamentary officers, shall, in the presence of the counting agents, count and tally the votes cast. The Senate will resume proceedings when the counting and tallying of the votes in the Senate has been concluded.
