"content": " Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The distinguished Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet County has not been in the House. Members who have spoken to this Motion from both sides of the House have been of the view that we cannot pass a Motion to ask the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the TSC to audit themselves. We require a select committee of this House to do that. This is to ensure we achieve greater efficacy and bring sanity, order and equity in the distribution of teachers around the country. However, you will find in urban schools the student teacher ratio is 15:1. In rural areas, you will find a school with eight classes having one TSC teacher and two untrained teachers. The distinguished Senator for Kirinyaga County has moved that we adjourn debate now so that we give an opportunity for the amendment of the Motion, which is a perfect idea in view of the debate that ensued. Once you have spoken to a Motion, you cannot move or second it. That is why I was asking the distinguished lady from Kajiado County, who I believe has not spoken to it or Sen. Petronila seated behind me, to second so that we can adjourn debate on this Motion and wait for an amendment. That is where we are Mr. Speaker, Sir."
