    "content": "Our Whips have worked very hard. We have made sure that every Member gets one departmental committee. If you get two departmental committees, you are lucky. The Members who are in the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs are in charge of independent commissions. All independent commissions will expire. The men and women who run commissions including the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Chief Justice will be vetted by this House within these five years. So, if you are in the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, very key people will pass through your hands in these five years. The term of the Chief Justice is coming to an end because of his age in 2020. The term of the commissioners of the National Land Commission (NLC) is coming to an end. The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) commissioners will leave on 18th Monday. We will vet the men and women who will be appointed to that SRC like nobody else’s business, particularly those who sit in SRC on behalf of the National Assembly and the Senate. We will not play around with those members. If you represent Parliament, you must represent the welfare of Members.
