"content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for your indulgence. Indeed, I want to agree with the Leader of the Majority Party and the Leader of the Minority Party that one, there may be no constitutional obligation or any statute that guides the provision of security to Members of Parliament. It is very important that PSC accords Members of Parliament security. I was asking myself a question as I listened to the two leaders. Is it the PSC or the National Police Service that is obligated to provide Members of Parliament with security? The Leader of the Majority Party has said that it is a privilege that was extended by the National Police Service. The question that is being put to you by Hon. Junet should go to the Inspector-General of the National Police Service but not to you as the Chair of PSC. If it is a privilege to be extended to Members of PSC, then you are obligated to provide all Members of Parliament with security, be it from KK Security, Lavington Guards or any other guards. I believe there are very many reputable security companies in this country, including men in black whom you can second to some of these Members."
