I would also want to ride on the statement so that when the Chairperson of the Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources is giving the response, he can also address the issue of acquisition of riparian lands. Much as preservation or conservation of the riparian land is very important, there are instances where the county governments and the national Government have acquired the riparian lands from individuals whether compulsory or otherwise, without compensating the people who own those lands. So, as much as we want to conserve, let us also know the recourse that the people who own the private land can take when their land is taken compulsorily to conserve the water catchment areas."
