First of all, let me take this opportunity to congratulate the Committee in charge of this subject matter because, at least, they demonstrated they have the ability to look at things seriously and consult widely. I must also admit that the Bill is timely, coming in time to replace the old Bill. However, there are a few observations that come out very clearly even though we will be dealing with most of the issues at the Committee level. The first issue is to take exception to the remarks that were made by the Leader of the Majority Party and to some extent, by the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing.
