The rationale is that in January 2008, the Government implemented Free Day Secondary Education where all students’ tuition fees are met by the Government at the rate of Kshs10,265 per student per year. Indeed, this amount forms the bulk of the fees required for day scholars. Boarders on the other hand have to meet substantial amounts of boarding fees.
