    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Pursuant to Standing Order No.46 (2)(b), I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson, Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources on the construction of a 15 storey apartment block on the Nairobi River Bank along Riverside. In the statement, the Chairperson should:- (1) State the law regulating construction of buildings and explain the process followed before approval is granted to commence construction of buildings in Nairobi, particularly in Riverside Estate. (2) State whether an environmental impact assessment was carried out and table approval of the development projects from all relevant agencies. (3) State whether the Government will stop the project and take action to restore the environment and protect the residents of the area from environmental pollution.
