    "content": "If proper agricultural research is done in the part of our country which is arable, we will get appropriate plants, seeds and varieties and animal breeds. We will not only feed ourselves but also we can turn our country into a net exporter of food rather than importing food as a country. Therefore, I support the appointment of Prof. Hamadi who is a refined researcher and an accomplished academician. When I look at the Report of the Committee which assessed him for suitability for proposed appointment, we have no doubt that this particular new department which ought to have been created many years ago will help us, as a country, to achieve one of our key pillars which His Excellency the President has identified as things that we need to focus on for the next four years which is food security. If we allocate a lot of resources to this particular department, we will be food secure."
