"content": "Finally, I would like to comment on humanitarian affairs. Humanitarian affairs are key to us. We are disturbed by movement of people from the south to the north. Africans or people from Central Asia and Middle East drown in the Mediterranean Sea as they attempt to cross to Europe. The situation looks helpless because the voices of Africans are silent. The European Union (EU) expresses itself on the de-humanising journey undertaken by men, women and children in that turbulent sea. For that reason, as Members of Parliament, we have a duty to our people to safeguard our democracy and make sure our country remains stable so that we are able to say that we are an island of a stable democracy in a region of turbulence. We have realised that democracy is good. All of us in this House have come here through the ballot. We have seen the goodness of people electing those they believe are the best to represent them. That is why it is not a small calling sitting in this House. It is the highest calling to safeguard our nation."
