"content": "It hurts me to see people who have gone to school and all they can think of is to get employment. They think that if you are not a teacher or in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), you are not employed. The truth is that people who have money in this country are self-employed. We have to create an enabling environment where people will get these resources and the capital to start their businesses, so that they can grow this economy. That way, we will collect more money for KRA which will be used to ensure that we have good services in the country. It will also be used to enhance security in the country and to increase the number of teachers in the country. As a former teacher, I will tell you that the ratio of student to teacher is alarming in Kenya. It is scary. We need to improve the quality of education. I know we all desire to have as many teachers as the good practice requires of us but this requires money from the Exchequer. All of us are looking at one source of money. If we can increase the people who are contributing to that basket, then all of us will have something to smile about. I am looking forward to a day when all of us will ask what it is that we can do to make Kenya a better place, but not to keep on asking what Kenya has done for us. All of us have a chance to contribute and make Kenya a better place, more appealing, peaceful and make it a good place to live in and do business."
