"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Just very quickly, I thank the Petitioners, especially, the immediate former Senator for Kajiado, Sen., Mositet, for still engaging with this House on such matters. In as much as we also have similar concerns in Nairobi County, I just want to stress on the issue of standardisation and a standard for compensation. Only yesterday, close to 200 households of my residents in Imara Daima in a place called Riara Village were evicted rightfully because they were under the Kenya Power and Lightning Company (KPLC) electricity lines. I agree that they should not have been there because of the fires that have been occurring in the city. However, the concern is that, those across the road, who are on the Kenya Railways way leave had been compensated, but they were not compensated. This is because it is not KPLC policy to compensate. Can we, through this Petition, agree on a standard policy of Government because KPLC, Kenya Railways, Water Resource The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
