    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to support this Motion. Police officers have many challenges. When we get problems, we contact them, but we notice that they are not even motivated to do their work. Police officers in ASAL areas have many problems. They are also family people. They need to assist their families, but if they are not taken care of, they will not manage to take care of their families and the security of Kenyans will be compromised. In my constituency, we sometimes get a lot of problems with cattle rustlers. Police officers are supposed to maintain security, but what will motivate them to do their work? So, it is very important. I think this House is supposed to look into the police officers’ welfare. They are not taken care of. There is corruption in Kenya because of the poor salaries that are paid to police officers and their poor living conditions. They ask for little bribes because they are unable to sustain themselves. So, it is very important for us to support this Motion, so that police officers’ welfare can be improved. They live in small houses which cannot accommodate their families and they are unable to construct good houses for themselves.
