    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, pursuant to Standing Order No. 46 (2) (b), I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations regarding the state of Ethiopian refugees in Kenya. In the Statement, the Chairperson should:- (a) state the number of Ethiopian refugees who have recently crossed the border from Ethiopia to Kenya and have settled in Moyale Constituency in Marsabit County; (b) outline the security measures being undertaken by the national Government to ensure the security and safety of the refugees and the Kenyan citizens in Moyale, especially, those that live along the Kenya-Ethiopia border; (c) highlight the steps being taken by the national Government to ensure that the refugees have access to basic needs such as food, water, shelter and clothing; and, (d) explain any other measures that the Government is taking to deal with the situation, which is getting protracted."
