    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to second this Bill. The Computer and Cybercrimes Bill, 2017 is sponsored by the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Aden Duale, MP. It was read a First time on 10th October 2017 and subsequently referred to the Departmental Committee on Communication Information and Innovation for consideration and thereafter to report to the House. The Committee placed an advertisement in the local dailies and wrote to the key stakeholders inviting them to submit their views on the Bill. Yesterday, I tabled the Report in the House and we had several meetings. I urge Members to pick it from the Table Office so that they can contribute meaningful. The Committee received 13 memoranda and held meetings with stakeholders who include the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet), the Media Council of Kenya (MCK), the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT), the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK), the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), the Information Communication Technology Association of Kenya (ICTAK), the Information The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
