In 1997 when the country was on the brink of disaster, the then President Daniel Arap Moi conceded to the Inter-Parties Parliamentary Group (IPPG) in Parliament. On the night the Bill to alter the Constitution and several other laws was brought to the House, he came to the House at midnight, voted for the Bill and the temperature in the country went down drastically before we went to election.
