Speaker, I beg to move the following Motion: THAT, this House adopts the Second Report of the Committee on Appointments on the Vetting of Nominee for Appointment as the Attorney General, laid on the Table of the House on Tuesday, 27th March 2018, and pursuant to the provisions of Article 156(2) of the Constitution, approves the appointment of Justice (Rtd.) Paul Kihara Kariuki as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya. Hon. Speaker, on 12th March 2018, the President conveyed to the National Assembly for consideration and approval the notification of the nomination of Justice Paul Kihara for appointment as the Attorney General (AG). This was in accordance with Article 156(2) of the Constitution and Section 5 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act."
