"content": "On the issue of suspension of the CEO of KNH, ideally, I sympathise with her with the hospital being what it is, but the buck always rests at the top position. When you accept to take a position at that level, ultimately, you will be hounded out in one way or the other because, I am told, KNH is a cartel. It is not very surprising that one of my old friends, Dr. Ong’ech, declined to take up the position of acting CEO knowing he was being taken to a slaughter house. Obviously, he was going to end up in disrepute. Therefore, it is important that the board of management of KNH and the Departmental Committee on Health intervene and minimise the influence of cartels especially those involved in procurement so that we allow the hospital to run as a truly professional hospital."
