"content": "Matters of Members’ welfare are very close to me both as your Speaker and Chairman of the PSC. This is why in the 11th Parliament, under my leadership, the Procedure and House Rules Committee amended the Standing Orders to provide for the establishment of the Committee of Members Services and Facilities which is mandated to receive and consider views of Members on the services and facilities provided for their benefit and well-being. This Select Committee was born out of the realisation that: 1. While kamukunjis might appear to be popular among Members, they are in essence informal sittings.
