"content": "The law we are enacting will also ensure that we undertake a lot of research and innovation in new technology, especially on matters of modern energy infrastructure, so that we can increase capacity, efficiency and have clean energy. I am very sure this Bill has come in a timely way. As we work towards ensuring that we achieve the Vision 2030, we will definitely compete and achieve our goal of being a truly developed country by 2030. Through this Bill, we also hope to ensure that clean energy is made available to our people at affordable costs. These are the poor who cannot afford electricity and, therefore, have to look for firewood and use paraffin everyday. The whole idea is to make sure that every Kenyan has access to affordable energy for either cooking or lighting. One of the Big Four Agenda components is industrialisation and job creation through value addition, which will mainly happen at the county level.
