Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 14 of the Bill be amended – (a) in sub-clause (2) by− (i) deleting the words “from amongst the members appointed under paragraph (f) appearing in paragraph (a); (ii) deleting the word “five” appearing in paragraph (f) and substituting therefor the word “two”; (iii) deleting sub-paragraphs (ii),(iii)and(v) appearing in paragraph (f); and (iv) inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (f) − “ (g) two persons appointed by the Cabinet Secretary through a transparent and formal process taking into consideration the regional and ethnic diversity of the people of Kenya.” (b) in sub-clause (3) by deleting the word “Authority” and substituting therefor the word “ Board”.
