Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 12 of the Bill be amended— (a) in sub-clause (1)— (i) by deleting the words “and Petroleum” appearing in paragraph (b); (ii) by inserting the following new paragraphs immediately after paragraph (b)— (ba) the Principal Secretary responsible for Petroleum or his representative; (bb) the Principal Secretary in the National Treasury or his or her authorized representative; (iii) by deleting the word “Commission” wherever it appears and substituting therefor the word “Authority”; (b) by deleting the word “Commission” in the marginal note and substituting therefor the word “Authority”; (c) in sub-clause (2) by deleting the words “in the fields of engineering, physical sciences, law, finance, environmental studies, economics, social sciences or energy” appearing in paragraph (b). This is for the same reason of having a single regulator."
