"content": "Secondly, the issue of security in our country was expounded by the President. We are grateful that a lot of effort has been put in place. We encourage those who are concerned to ensure that they put a lot of surveillance at the borders. There are still pockets of insecurity in certain areas and it is our prayer that our neighboring countries such as Somalia and Sudan will have peace. The refugees from these countries have been affecting our country because they create a porous border. In addition to that, the President’s Speech also dwelt on the ‘handshake’. However, people have taken the issue of the ‘handshake’ to mean adding another level of management, in this case, sharing the Cabinet or having a referendum. I believe the handshake was to bring unity and ensure that there is peace in our country which will enable us invite investors and at the same time spur the economy. A referendum will simply amend the Constitution of Kenya 2010 which we are not yet done with. Therefore, issues of referendum cannot be put on the table right now. They should not talk about creating another level of Government when the taxpayers are complaining about the huge taxes that they pay to support the Government that is in place."
