    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move the following Motion:- THAT, conscious that this country witnessed serious breakdown of law and order as a result of the post-election violence of 2007/2008; aware of the multiple forced displacement inducing factors and the current status and deplorable plight of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the country; considering the obligation of parliamentarians to the people they represent including those Internally Displaced, through their legislative, oversight and representative role, this House urges the Government to speed up the resettlement of IDPs and further constitute a Select Committee on Internally Displaced Persons to look into how the government has addressed the current plight of IDPs in terms of basic food rations, shelter and compensation; review existing institutions and organs addressing forced displacements; examine policies and laws governing all forms of forced displacement with the aim of promoting protection and improving the well being of forced migrants and make recommendations on the way forward and that the Committee shall comprise the following and shall table its report within six months of its appointment:-"
