    "content": "Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would also like to give a warm welcome to the MCAs from Bungoma County Assembly. We have interacted before through my Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations as we went to deal with the issues of security in Mt. Elgon Constituency. I am sure that they are happy with the progress that is being made since our visit. We also interacted with them over matters of land, settlements and the schemes there. I am glad that the area is a bit quiet and peaceful and we want to commit to them that we will make sure that all those allocations are done properly. In commending them, I would also like to note that as a Senate, we need to strengthen our interaction with county assemblies. We are the big brothers of the county assemblies, so we need to hold their hands as we deal with devolution and accountability. I want to commend Bungoma County Assembly because of the quality of interactions. They did a wonderful Report on the issues and they handed it to us. I have not seen such a report being done in any other county assembly and I hope that they will interact with my county assembly of Nairobi for the time when they are in Nairobi. Thank you and I am glad to officially welcome them to Nairobi County as the official host."
