"content": "It is not just the Solai Dam, but there are many other dams that are disasters awaiting to be visited on the people. My Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations visited Tana River County. KenGen, a public corporation, has released water from the dams of the Seven Forks and caused terrible damage to the people of Garissa and Tana River counties as the River goes down to the ocean. People have lost lives and crocodiles have come out of the river and eaten people in their houses but nobody is talking about it. The other day, a lion escaped from the Nairobi National Park into the rich suburbs of Karen. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) came to a standstill and everybody went hunting for the lion – a single lion. Karen, where I live, became like a war zone - the KWS officers coming from one side, the police, Administration Police (AP) and the General Service Unit (GSU), each coming from one side, for one lion."
