"content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to salute the President’s Speech. We know very well that he did this as obligated under Articles 132 and 240 of the Constitution. We know very well that on such a day, the President is obligated to talk about three items, one of them being our international obligation. We know very well that all the treaties that Kenya is signatory to have been ratified by Parliament and are part and parcel of the laws of this country. On that front, we know very well that there are many laws. I am happy to note that what he said is, indeed, true. It is important that international obligations that we are supposed to subscribe to are followed to the letter because this country does not exist in isolation. There are many treaties, vide the United Nations, which are very critical like the Rome Statute and I am happy to note that the matter is being followed properly."
