    "content": "Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I thank Sen. Chebeni for bringing this Statement to the Floor of the House. All efforts must be targeted at protecting the girl child who is vulnerable in many ways. The girl child must be protected in schools, churches, homes and everywhere. As we do so, the country must not lose site of the plight of the boy child. I urge that as we call on the relevant bodies and authorities in this country to protect our girls, our boys should also be protected. There are so many boys who are wasting away in markets and grazing fields. Most of them are losing hope and self-esteem every passing day simply because a lot of attention is focused on the girl child. It is a good thing, but it should not be done at the expense of the boy child. I urge that the call for action be concentrated on protection of the Kenyan child; that is, both the boy child and the girl child."
