    "content": "The Departmental Committee on Lands was constituted to oversee two agencies: the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and the National Land Commission (NLC). The Committee held consultative meetings with the Ministry and NLC in order to understand their projects and programmes. The meetings were preceded by a briefing by the Parliamentary Budget Office on the Budget of the Financial Year 2018\\2019. I would like to thank the Budget Office for that. The Budget expenditure for the Lands Policy and Planning Programme in the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning for this year is Kshs6.020billion. It comprises of Kshs2.6billion for recurrent expenditure and Kshs3.3billion for capital expenditure. The Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning plans to implement only one budget programme which is Lands Policy and Planning Programme. The objective of the Ministry and the Programme is to ensure sufficient and efficient administration and sustainable management of land resource.
