    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. This is a very important Vote because energy is an enabler of the Big Four Agenda. Since Kenya became a Republic, we have only been able to generate about 2700 megawatts of power whereas countries like South Africa have generated 45,000 megawatts. So, in terms of competitiveness, we have investors going to other countries. We want cheap power. We are getting our power in industrial area at about US$16. I arrived today morning from Ethiopia. In Ethiopia, they are offering their industries power at US$3. We cannot compete. We cannot have investors coming to Kenya if our power is still expensive. We want to have more money injected to this to get cheaper power. Thank you."
