    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I support this Petition. I am very confident that the Committee, chaired by my friend and able colleague, Hon. Gikaria, will take it up. However, the Committee can only look at the wider issues of compensation and futuristic matters. This incident is a clear case of criminal negligence. I have seen, in the recent past that certain actions have been taken against people for negligence. People have been taken to court. This is a case where somebody needs to be taken to court and be charged so that it serves as deterrence to the rest of the fellows who head these parastatals. There is lethargy all over. It cannot be acceptable that a parastatal of the stature of KenGen can just casually release water from a dam and that water ends up killing people. Lives of people in Garsen Constituency have been lost. This needs to be taken very seriously. I believe The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
