"content": "On the matter of roads – my Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance and Budget is seated here – we had a challenge with this current budget because the counties were supposed to receive up to Kshs9 billion for county roads, which is equivalent to 20 per cent of the amount that they are supposed to be given. In fact, 33,000 kilometres are supposed to be paved by county governments. I hope that the Standing Committee on Roads and Transportation, led by Sen. Wamatangi, will interrogate this matter of roads. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to disclose why I thanked Sen. Khaniri. When I was elected, I requested for a statement on the Mbooni-Tawa Road.
