    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I thank the Senator who has brought this Statement on our behalf. I also thank those who have commented positively about what needs to be done and for the condolence messages. This was a sad incident. We have had fires in Gikomba Market, but this is the first time we lost lives. I thank Sen. Omanga and the local Member of Parliament (MP) for accompanying me to the site immediately the incident happened. We saw the extent of the damage. I have been to the site with different agencies of Government thrice and we also went to the hospitals. I am glad to note and happy to say that for the first time, Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) did a good job with the survivors of this fire. They were treated well and we have taken care of the hospital bills."
