"content": "It is not always that you are investigating. Some committees have their work plans which have already been approved and you have seen them. So, in the process, certain things may crop up which are not necessarily under any investigation. That is not to say that the committee will shy away from meeting with the SAGAS. They are dealt with by departmental committees on the basis of the functions I have just read out and also with respect to reports emanating from the Office of the Auditor-General. If it regards operations, the committee may want to understand and measure the relative successes and bring a report to the House on what they discovered. When doing that, you are not investigating. We have always said that we do not want committees to be invited by other bodies or even SAGAS.
