The NCPBs were not constructed to give relief to a Tanzania or a Ugandan maize farmer, but for relief and storage of produce by the Kenyan maize farmer. Why are we bolstering the economies of our neighbours and killing our own economy? These are issues we must address. This Committee must address the issue of farm subsidies. We need to know how much is in the budget; how much fertiliser is purchased and how it is distributed to reach the ordinary farmer.
