Members, moving on, upon the Report being laid I received representations from a host of Members, including some of the Members of the Joint Committee regarding some of the recommendations contained in the reports. Indeed, the following day after the Report had been tabled, I received more representations from Members, including those of the HBC, to defer discussions in order to afford all Members an opportunity to read the Report. Requests were also made to defer the Report so as to allow sufficient time for those wishing to propose amendments to the Report to observe the timelines set out under Standing Order 55 relating to issuance of notices of amendments. Hon. Members, as you may be aware, that Standing Order requires the proposer of an amendment to a Motion to hand the proposed amendments in writing to the Clerk of the House at least two hours before the Order is read."
