    "content": "In its 2016 Report, the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) stated that the current monetary value of coconut and its products is around Kshs3.2 billion, which is only 25 per cent of the estimated potential of Kshs13 billion annually. The coconut sub-sector is one of the key economic drivers in Kenya which supports over 150,000 households which directly rely on it for income, employment and food. This clearly implies that 75 per cent of the potential of the coconut tree in this country is untapped.
