Deputy Speaker, I beg to move the following Special Motion: THAT, this House approves the appointment of the chairperson and the board Members of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board as contained in the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security Report, laid before this House on Wednesday, 22nd August 2018. Pursuant to the provisions of Article 250(2)(b) of the Constitution and Section 11(6) of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority Act No. 35 of 2011 and Sections 3 and 5 of the Parliamentary Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act No. 33 of 2011, His Excellency the President nominated the Chairperson and the Members of the IPOA."
